Ihre Aufgaben

POSITION OVERVIEW

The basic function of the Project Manager is to provide the necessary planning, direction, organization, and control to meet and/or exceed the customer’s expectations for quality, on-time delivery. In addition, the Project Manager is responsible for coordinating efforts necessary to attain/exceed the project’s profit goals.

To accomplish these tasks, the Project Manager is expected to foster productive and mutually beneficial relationships with assigned customers, constantly working to further penetrate the customer’s organization and develop new business. In so doing, the Project Manager will assure strong coordination with the internal business development team, engineering teams, controller and purchasing teams, and the manufacturing functions.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES

The principal duty of the Project Manager is to manage customer relationships while directing the development of specific systems to meet the customer specifications within the budget and cost constraints compiled by the business development team.

The principal duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Working with Applications Engineers, Mechanical and Controls Engineers as well as purchasing and manufacturing teams to complete projects within the allotted schedule and budget constraints while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Providing the primary customer contact throughout the project—documenting and communicating project status, controlling of project scope, and generating change orders/quotations.
  • Assisting with the overall account management for assigned customers including the development of new business opportunities.
  • Mentoring less experienced project and design staff, assisting in the development of concepts and design methodologies for projects in addition to those primarily assigned.
  • Preparing project schedules and recommending staffing to ensure constant improvements in efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensuring the technical soundness of the design process by coordinating with the Director of Engineering to ensure the project design follows good engineering practices.
  • Implementing and managing expense budgets for projects—taking corrective action to any area with major unfavorable variance.
  • Providing information as requested by the Director of Engineering and the Director of Business Development to support of the development of quotations.
  • Ensuring all operational information required to invoice correctly is provided to responsible administrative personnel.
  • Preparing complete and accurate project documentation—ensuring company management and customer representatives are fully informed of project status and schedule at all times.


Ihr Profil

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education: College accreditation with emphasis in engineering or equivalent experience, preferably from within a manufacturing firm—bachelor’s degree with concentration in engineering strongly preferred

Experience: At least ten years of machine design engineering experience from within a technical equipment manufacturer—an additional five years of project or account management experience preferred

Additional skills:

  • The mechanical aptitude and machine design skills to manage the development of complex mechanisms in a timely fashion
  • Sufficient judgment to make cost/benefit decisions on an ongoing basis to ensure completion of robust designs in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Competency in computer and office equipment with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Project
  • Familiarity with 3D design software—SolidWorks preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing individual duties effectively
  • Valid driver’s license with driving record of acceptable risk as defined by Invotec’s insurance company
  • Strong multitasking capabilities

 PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

As a member of Invotec, Inc., applicants must be able to interact safely in a manufacturing environment. This includes:

  • Full body mobility with the ability to bend, stoop, climb, and lift or move 25 lbs of weight.
  • The ability to walk within restricted areas of the company manufacturing plant.
  • Professional conduct in regards to hygiene and dress.
  • The ability to read and prepare business documents as well as conduct business over the telephone in a sometimes loud environment.
  • The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
