HAHN Academy organizes apprentice event in Rheinböllen

This April, the second DACH-wide apprentice event for our first-year apprentice took place. The 24 apprentices from the HAHN Group locations Diepenau, Engen, Rheinböllen & Kremsmünster met for the first time in Rheinböllen, after they got to know each other during a virtual onboarding last October. An exciting program of the HAHN Academy around the world of HAHN Group was waiting for them.

On the first day, the focus was on getting to know each other and on team building. After a joint lunch and a personal round of introductions, the apprentices competed against each other in small groups in no less than three disciplines at the “Bash Zone” team event in Mainz. Skill, knowledge and athleticism were proven in fun competitions. The apprentices finished off the eventful day with a pleasant dinner.

For the second day, the HAHN Academy had organized a varied program at the location in Rheinböllen. It began with an extended tour of the company, which was guided by our Rheinböllen apprentices themselves. They presented the various departments and premises to their colleagues. In a subsequent site workshop, the apprentices designed posters on the various group companies and their tasks. Here, the apprentices from Engen had done good preparatory work having made an own video about their location in advance, which they were able to present on this occasion.

Another highlight was the speech of Frank Konrad, our Co-CEO. He gave exciting insights into the world of HAHN Group and illustrated his own career. Afterwards, the apprentices had the opportunity to talk directly to the management and ask questions on various topics.

The event continued with a station rally. Here, the apprentices learned more about mechanical design, how to program the robot “Sawyer” and were allowed to take a short spin on the company premises under supervision in a special car that was built by apprentices over a longer period of time – there were some volunteers here.

In the evening, teamwork was once again called for. In a cooking and barbecue event, the apprentices prepared salads, dips and other delicacies together. After a final breakfast on the third day, everyone finally started their journey home again and is now looking forward to further joint projects.
